Created in 1957 by Jean Graton, Michel Vaillant embodies an ideal: that of the motor sport champion who is simultaneously honest, loyal and brave. A member of team Vaillante, founded by his parents, he is an exceptional driver who does not hesitate to put himself in danger in order to help others, denounce an injustice or unmask cheats and crooks. Jean Graton, who is always well-informed about the latest technological innovations and very much acquainted with the world of racing circuits and teams, has been able to develop a popular series, which has been and continues to be a reference for generations of boys with a passion for motor sports. A series that today has 70 albums and 60 years of success, which Philippe Graton, the son of Jean, has revisited in the Graton studio.
A new page is today being turned in the Michel Vaillant adventure, with the Éditions Dupuis and a new Michelle Vaillant season in 2012.
