Perhaps it is coincidence that draws Dora, Alban, Elias and Nafsika all to fall passionately in love in a way that will change their lives forever, on the French airbase of Pavlos in Macedonia in the autumn of 1916. When each of these romances takes a dramatic turn, the tale transforms into a harrowing thriller.
