Independence soon. Alain, an Algerian-born Frenchman employed in an insurance company, has to leave Algeria. In Paris, he rejoins his mother and his pregnant wife. There he starts a new life, a life of greyness far from the sun, the beaches of Bab-el-Oued, the warm sea. Far from over there.
