Story

Doug Headline, an accomplished critic, editor, translator, and scriptwriter, was born in Paris in 1962. His father, Jean-Patrick Manchette, was a well-known author of thriller novels. Having grown up in a family of cinema-lovers, Doug soon became a film critic as well as a writer for the magazine "Mtal Hurlant." He also began to write scripts for several artists with the Humanodes Associs team. In 1987 he co-founded Zenda, a publisher with the aim of highlighting classic and contemporary American and British comics. Since 1990 he has been working as a producer and scriptwriter for the movies and television. When his father died in 1995, Doug devoted himself to the re-publication of his work. In collaboration with artist Max Cabanes, he adapted his father's unfinished novel "La Princesse du sang" into a striking and celebrated graphic novel, published by the Dupuis Aire Libre collection ("Ivory Pearl," Europe Comics).
