When Spirou and Fantasio arrive in Champignac, they have no idea that danger is looming. Fantasio starts investigating a scoop and Spirou decides to let him be and go about his own business. 24 hours later, Fantasio still hasn't been seen and Spirou, helped by the Marsupilami, goes in search of him...
Drawn in 1960 for Le Parisien libéré, this adventure is the third (and last) collaboration between Franquin and Roba. For lack of time, they stopped working together on these short stories made for the press.
Republished later in Spirou in 1962-1963, this story is now being published on its own as a commented edition, with colors revived by Frédéric Janin and back matter written by Sergio Honorez, editorial director of Éditions Dupuis. A story to be rediscovered without delay!
