On the day of her eighth birthday, Martin gives his mischievous little daughter Nola the music box that belonged to her late mother, Annah. The box acts as a kind of symbol for the little girl, and she soon starts to believe there's something living inside it. That's when Nola shrinks, goes inside the box, and discovers Pandorient, a magical world beyond the paper door. But time is short: Mathilda, mother of Andrea and Igor, has fallen seriously ill. What's wrong with her? Could she have been poisoned? Perhaps the water is contaminated? Their fears soon turn out to be true. The children have to cure Mathilda and track down the pollutant before Nola goes back to her father in her own world. But maybe it was all just a dream...!
