Almost 75 years old, and not a wrinkle in sight: Spirou continues to astonish with its extraordinary timelessness. Serge Clerc, who reinvented the ligne claire drawing style alongside Yves Chaland and Joost Swarte, revisits the world of Spirou by confronting him with two of the great names of art of the 20th Century: Calder and Picasso. He has drawn over forty major illustrations, selected from a host of drawings that mix Spirou and Fantasio with the modernity of the "Franquin and Jijé" era. Over the course of over a hundred pages, this book presents these majestic illustrations and the countless preparatory drawings that brought them into being. An author's vision and an artist's sketchbook, of rare quality and in limited edition, comprising a run of screen printed art, numbered and signed by the author.
